About the data
Company Review
Founded in 2005, Datajet, an Australian company, has comprehensive experience in marketing and data management. As a data aggregator, we concentrate on business marketing data, assembling it, sanitising it, and preparing it for resale to assist and enhance the marketing campaigns of our client businesses.
Data Compilation
We derive our data from numerous sources. Among them are public and private databases, our customer-supplied data, and the Internet, which we rely on for data accumulation and verification. Every data list is cross-examined against each other and public databases, including the Australian Business Names Register. As a result, our final database is a blend of diverse data sources. This allows us to check the existence of a record from more than one source and populate various data fields accordingly.
Versus Telephone Directory
Our database is not an absolute replicate of the Australian telephone directory. A significant percentage of our data aligns with the directory, but there's still variance, especially with different business types. Although data redundancy is a common issue when extracting data from the telephone directory, we cater to this by cross-verifying the directory data with our "dead/redundant" records database. This initiative has helped us improve our data quality as it identifies potential redundant records.
Business Classification Process
Datajet employs a unique heading scheme for business classification. Although it's structured like the Yellow Pages, there are notable differences. We subsequently match it with the most appropriate ANZSIC (Australian New Zealand Standard Industry Classification) code/description.

Data Sanitisation
As far as practical, we cross-verify all collected data to omit incorrect or doubtful records, duplicates, or "dead" records. Routine encompassing checks are conducted on all emails, websites, and fax numbers, excluding any invalid or obsolete numbers and addresses. Our dead record database continuously aids the elimination of defunct records and any information that has been requested for removal or suppression.

Data Refreshment
We categorise our data updates into two groups: Major and Maintenance updates. Major updates, which occur semi-annually, consist of inserting newly sourced information and correcting the existing data. On the other hand, maintenance updates lack a set schedule primarily involving removing records, correcting errors discovered, and executing requests for information suppression.
Data Accuracy
Our methodology towards data accuracy is conservative. We strive for a minimum of 85% accuracy following a significant update. However, our meticulous random and spot-testing strategies hint at a higher level of accuracy, frequently exceeding 90%.
